Halloween, Halloween - Card

While I am enjoying this lovely warm weather, I’ve still been in the mood to work with Fall colors. Although the Monsieur collection from Pretty Little Studio is more of a masculine type of collection – the patterns and colors work perfectly for any fall project! I was completely inspired by the collection and decided to make this lovely Halloween Card.
Supplies Used: Pretty Little Studio's Monsieur Collection, Pretty Little Studio's Vintage Feedsacks Mini Paper Ribbons, Pretty Little Studio's Mr Connor Bookmark Tags, American Crafts' Elements Brads Fabric Nightfall, GCD Studio's Charleston Collection

Pretty Little Studio Birthday Party Tag

My first "official" project for Pretty Little Studio is up! I was challenged to use a set of "birthday bright" colors.
This is the little tag I came up with. It's my first altered tag and I just love it! The color scheme consisted of green, pink, and blue stripes in the background. I also noticed just a hint of yellow here, and there. The ‘Birthday Cake’ collection worked perfectly for these colors. I used one of the bingo cards and covered it with strips of fancy paper for the fun patchwork effect.
Products Used: Birthday Cake collection (Pretty Little Studio), American Crafts Glitter Tape, Recollections Bling

Feel free to stop by the Pretty Little Studio blog to get even more inspiration!

A Masculine Card for my Valentine & Some News

Valentines Day is tomorrow! What do you have planned with your sweetheart? The hubby and I plan on celebrating this weekend with a little local romantic getaway. I'm pretty excited!
Of course I still plan on giving the hubby some candies and a card tomorrow. This morning he is at work so I woke up early to make him this masculine card. I put my silhouette to work on this one - using it to cut the tags, star, and scalloped circle.
Products Used: My Favorite Things Six By Six Pad, Floral 12X12 Homemade Paper by Echo Park Paper Co., Silhouette Cameo, Woolies by Basic Grey, Scalloped Circles Classic Calico 3 Wood Veneer by Studio Calico, White Cardstock, Black Cardstock

I also have some fun news to share. Last night I received a very happy email telling me that one of my projects is to be published in CARDS magazine - the July 2013 issue! I couldn't be more excited. This is my very first publication and an absolute dream come true! Now comes the long five month wait for the magazine to come out. ;)

Memories with you - CARD

It's Monday! How was every one's weekend? Did you watch the football game? The only time I even glanced at it was when it had be won. I think it's adorable when all the big muscled men are so happy, and literally have a skip in their step! Enough about football though...
Let's talk crafts! I made a card. I am still more of a 12x12 girl but I think I'm getting better making cards. The base of this card is actually vellum (just to add some fun and different texture). I'm running a little low on supplies so this was kind of a 'dive into my scraps basket and see what I can find' sort of project. That gold frame is actually a few years old (it's by Making Memories). The sentiment - "memories with you" - is actually something I cut out of some packaging!
SUPPLIES USED: Silly 6X6 Heyday Paper, Dew 6X6 Heyday Paper, Vellum, Brilliance 6X6 Authentique Paper, Bunny Tail Trail 12X12 Woodland Park Paper, Style 12X12 On Trend Paper,
Woodland Park Chip N Stick 8X12, Crate Paper's Little Bo Peep Border Stickers, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots, EK Sucess Binding Punch, Making Memories Frame

"Hello" card // Cardmaking

I've been trying so hard to get into card making. I enjoy it, I really do. I just feel like my cards are...well...not that great. Layouts usually come easy to me because I have such a big canvas to work with. Cards, however, just don't offer enough room for all that I want to cram on there. I guess another problem is I don't exactly have very many 'card making' supplies. The majority of my papers and embellishments are more made for layouts. However, practice makes perfect, right?
The base of this card is a craft card stock, though you can't see it because it's been covered with lovely layers. The layers consist of papers from several different companies/lines - Crate Paper's Fourteen collection, Echo Park's Sweet Day collection, My Little Shoeboxes' Happy Go Lucky collection, Studio Calico's Heyday collection, and a page from my pink Smash Book by K&Company. The scalloped edge at the top is from Crate Paper's Little Bo Peep collection.
The chipboard flower is from October Afternoon's Woodland Park collection, and the wood veneer "Hello" shape is from Freckled Fawn. The enamel dots are from My Minds Eye.

And don't forget you still have one day left to enter in the giveaway I'm holding! Check the details out here!

Handmade and Digital Christmas Cards

I'm not much of a card maker but on certain occasions the mood will hit me. The mood hit me this morning and this is the quick little card that I came up with. I used this week's saturday card sketch from Two Peas In A Bucket. The red paper, Santa sticker, polka dot paper, and stars are all from Echo Park's Very Merry collection. The "Ho! Ho!" paper is from a Me & My Big Ideas paper stack that I got from Michael's last year and the wooden button is from American Crafts. The card is backed a a piece of kraft card stock.
It opens up to reveal a little pocking that will hold an iTunes gift card. The pocket also acts a little spot for me to write my sentiments on.

Unfortunately I don't have the supplies, nor the time and energy to hand make everyone Christmas cards. Photoshop comes in handy though! This is the Christmas card I have made this year to pass out with every one's gifts. Super simple but I think it's pretty cute. Our relatives are always excited to get photos of Charlotte so I'm sure this one will be a winner!

Thanks for taking a peek! Happy Friday. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Happy Father's Day! (cards)

Happy father's day to all the proud papas!
In honor of these special men in our lives I'd like to share a couple of cards I made for such the occasion. Keep in mind I am not much of a card maker! It's never quite been my 'trade' of choice. Nonetheless...I'm pretty proud of them. :) I just had fun with making them. Isn't that what is most important?
This first one is the card I made my dad. It measures 5x7 and the base is made out of kraft cardstock. I used papers and embellishments are from Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill collection, Authentique cardstock, and Echo Park's (This and That) Charming collection. I cut the tags and title out using my Silhouette Cameo and stamped one of them with my "potty man" stamp from Hero Arts. I also used my Martha Stewart Scallop Dot punch and my EK Success binding edge punch to make the different borders.
This second one is the card I made for my husband. It measures 5x7 and the base is made out of kraft cardstock. I used Echo Park's (This and That) Charming collection and also some dotted swiss cardstock (punched with Martha Stewart's Scallop Dot punch). The stars and mustaches (and the majority of the title) are all cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.

Have fun celebrating with the special men in your life!

"Just A Few Facts" layout + baby card (My Little Shoebox)

Perhaps I am not being the least bit modest but I can honestly say that words cannot express how much I love this layout. I worked on it from beginning to end. I sketched it out on a piece of paper, grabbed my supplies and photos, and made it happen. I feel like this layout completely portrays my own personal scrapbooking style. The neat alignment, pile of embellishments, use of kraft paper and lovely colors. It's all me! I have never been so happy with a completed project before. I really hope to do more layouts like this.

I have so many random pictures of my daughter that don't necessarily tell a specific story, yet I still want to scrapbook them. I decided a good idea would be to list a few random facts about her. However, I needed to make a layout that would allow for a lot of journaling which is where the banner came into play.

As for the supplies...
All of the papers (aside from the kraft) are My Little Shoebox (Lovely Day). The papers and journaling spots that make up the banner are also from this collection.
The cluster of embellishments are a mixture of My Little Shoebox (Lovely Day) and American Crafts. I even took apart some of my American Crafts embellishments, altering them to fit this layout specifically.
The title is made up of My Little Shoebox (Lovely Day) alpha stickers and AC Thickers.
The little word stickers are from Crate Paper (Emma's Shop).
The punch used is Martha Stewart (Scallop Dot).
I also made a card. Now, I am not much of a card maker. It just doesn't come natural to me like so many of you talented ladies. Nonetheless, here it is. After messing around with the soft blue and pinks, I decided to make it a baby card. All of the supplies used to make this card are, again, My Little Shoebox. In fact - the only things that are not My Little Shoebox are the frame around the picture (Colorbok), the doily, and the blue cardstock.

Happy Crafting!
