Birthday Fun, Loot, and a Layout

November 16th was my birthday. A year older? Why yes - my little 20 something number did go up. A year wiser? Of course - I'd like to think that the good, the bad, and the ugly has taught me some valuable lessons. More mature? I think not! I may be 24 but my inner child is not. My inner child still loves to swing on the playground, play with her daughter's toys, and mess around with paper and glue.

The day before my birthday my husband surprised with a Birthday Icecream Cake. The next day - my actual birthday - he took my daughter and I out for a 'day out on the town'. I went to my local scrapbook store - Beach Scrapbooks - and Michaels where I spent a good portion of my birthday money. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner and we were even naughty enough to have Starbucks frappuccinos for dessert. When we got home he surprised me with a new guillotine paper trimmer that cuts through paper like butta'!

The very next day he surprised me, once again, with The Wise Man's Fear (by Patrick Rothfuss) - the second book in my all time favorite series. Along with the goodies I bought myself and the goodies my husband got me - my little brother gave me an Christmas ornament that I can put a picture into and my sister gave me an awesome Sailor Moon (old school stuff!) T Shirt. To top it all of - I have even more gifts on the way from my best friend who lives in D.C.! I'm pleased to say I was just a little spoiled this year. ;)

Along with the scrappy goodies I bought - the winnings from Authentique also came in the mail. I, of course, couldn't resist getting my fingers a little dirty today!
A 12x12 layout of my hubba bubs and I! The title, "Sending All My Love To You" is based off of a song titled Last Night On Earth by Greenday. I scribbled down a few of my favorite lyrics from the song for the journaling. Isn't that paper gorgeous? All of it is from Authentique! The particular paper I used is from the Free Bird - Delight series. The word love is spelled out with Thickers by American Crafts and the rest of the title is from an alpha sticker sheet that came in Bo Bunny's Vicki B. Collection. The wee little butterflies are just butterflies I cut out of some Prima packaging. The My Love sticker is again from that same Bo Bunny's sticker sheet and the little envelope is a stamp from a set called Hugs and Kisses by Hampton Art. Up in the corner there are a few more embellishments from Amy Tangerine and a piece (the postage stamp) from Authentique's Splendid collection. The little journaling spot that is in the corner is a journaling block from Crate Paper's Neighborhood collection. I doodled around many of the edges with my Zig Writer Pen. I am loving that thing! I sprinkled a little Kiwi Smooch Spritz spray here and there to add a final touch.
