A Sketch, Weekend Recap (a little late), and Wheels On Mars

Sketches! No matter what type of scrapbooker you are, sketches are one of the top tools you use. I've always wanted to give making my own sketch a try. I had a little free time on my hands the other day but didn't necessarily feel like getting my hands (or my crafting area) dirty so I put this little sketch together. I really enjoyed the process and hope to create more. I haven't had the chance to put together a layout based on it but please feel free to use it. I'd love to see what beautiful creations would come of it. In fact - I would be honored for any of you talented ladies to put it to good use!

I'm a little late on my weekend recapped. This weekend wasn't as busy as last weekend but it was still pretty tiring. Charlotte being little miss popularity was invited to two birthday parties on the same day. Luckily the time was spaced out perfectly so we could attend both. While the parties were very much fun - they were also very tiring for mommy and daddy. Charlotte and the other kids kept us on our toes. We had plans to go to Busch Gardens (a theme park) on Sunday so Charlotte could meet all the Sesame Street characters but we were just to tired to go! We're saving that for another weekend.

 

As a big science nerd, I was so happy to hear that the Curiosity Rover had successfully landed on Mars on Sunday. The above picture is the latest that 'he' has taken.The photo is of the rover's shadow and Mount Sharp - the 3 mile high mountain that is in the middle of Mars' Gale Crater. The Curiosity Rover's mission is to investigate the Martian climate, geology, and whether Mars could ever have supported life, and the investigation of the role of water. It is also useful laying ground for future missions, perhaps even a manned mission to Mars. The Curiosity Rover is a top notch machine and is the most advanced droid to have ever been on mars. I highly suggest you follow 'his' twitter page for more updates to come. 'He' has been posting videos and photos of his mission so far.
