Daddy's Guitar 12x12 Layout

My husband is teaching himself to play the guitar. Every time he brings it out, Charlotte gets so excited. She loves music, and she loves helping him strum the strings. I was happy to do this layout because it's not often that I get to do layouts with "boyish" colors - being the mommy of a little princess and all. This layout is basically made up of all scraps! I'm planning on cutting up all my scraps to use them for project life pages (more about that later) so I wanted to incorporate a few of them on a 12x12 layout before hand.

I wanted the little wood veneers to be painted red to match the border strip in the middle. I just didn't feel like pulling out my paints though. That's when I remembered that I had Faber Castell's gelato pens in my stash! I originally bought them for my mixed media projects but have quickly learned that they are wonderful for stamping and altering things! I was able to color the wood veneers quickly, and with very little mess.
I highly suggest you add them to your stash. They are becoming my new favorite!

Happy crafting!
