"My Person" Layout & a glance back at my very first layout....

My very first layout of 2013. There is something else very special about it but I will get to that in a little while. For the moment, let's talk about all the pretty paper, pictures, and embellies. The title - "My Person" is from a show called "Grey's Anatomy" and the pictures are of my best friend and I. At the very bottom (that white strip) I even used the quote from Grey's Anatomy for the journaling - "She’s my person. If I murdered someone, she’s the person I’d call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She’s my person."

The alphabet stickers I used to make up the title are Fabric DIY Thickers, and Bella Blvd Highfive stickers. The floral paper, woodgrain paper, and photo mats are from Crate Paper's "On Trend" collection. The striped teal paper is from a page out of one of my smash books. For the cluster of embellishments I've used Prima flowers, chipboard flowers and YoYo flowers from Crate Paper, My Minds Eye Enamel Dots, and bits of pieces from one of Studio Calico's Ephrema pack.
So what is this special "bit" that I've been going on about? To often we find ourselves being inspired by others. While it's great to love someone's work and get inspired - why don't we look back at our own work and get inspired? That's what I've done today. I've scraplifted the above layout...which is not just any layout. It is the very first layout that I had ever made!

Back then I didn't know much about scrapbooking. I also didn't have very many supplies. When I first started I had one paper pad, a few pieces of cardstock, a pack of pearls, two things of alphabet stickers, and some flowers. I worked with what I had. It's funny to think that I didn't know to include journaling but I still clustered embellishments (even without knowing about certain styles of scrapbooking). This layout, while it may not be the fanciest, is very special to me. It's the layout that started it all! My passion for scrapbooking!

Thank you for reading and taking this little glimpse into the past with me!
