Donkey Basketball

Every year, my husband participates in what's known as "Donkey Basketball". Donkey Basketball is just a variation on the standard game of basketball, played on a standard basketball court, but the players ride donkeys the entire time. It's hilarious to watch (and sometimes quite frightful as the donkeys can get rather feisty), and it's for a good cause (donations go to different charities every year).
Because my husband participates in Donkey Basketball every year - I have a ton of photos. This is my particular favorite one of him (right before the game) so naturally I chose to make a layout. Almost all the papers in this layout are from Amy Tangerine's "Ready Set Go" collection. The few papers that are not from her collection are the cloud paper (Little Yellow Bicycle) and star paper (Bella Blvd).
How cute is that little paper donkey? I cut him out using my Silhouette Cameo. The alphas that spell out "donkey" are also by Bella Blvd. I was all out of the letter "o" so I used the negative instead. I love how it looks! The word "B-BALL" is made up of those DIY Fabric Thickers that I've been using a lot lately. The twine is from Doodlebug. The kraft envelope bit is from Maya Road.

Thank you for reading. Happy Friday! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

Color Me Scrappy - Challenge #15

It's the beginning of the new term for Color Me Scrappy and I couldn't be more excited. Remember how I said that there were changes to come? Well they are here! The new challenges are more exciting than ever! Instead of having just a color combo challenge - we're throwing in some extra challenges every month. This month we have a Color/Sketch combo....

Lovely fall colors and a sketch that is close to my heart (because I created it, hehe!).

...And this is the layout I created using the colors and sketch. With the fall colors in use I decided to go ahead and scrapbook the Halloween pictures of Charlotte from last year. The circle in the sketch is the accordion flower on the layout. Otherwise - I stuck to the sketch pretty well with the use of layers, a centered title, and strips of journaling. The majority of papers used are from the Simple Stories' Harvest Lane collection. The one strip of paper down the side is from Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill collection. The title is made up of DIY Fabric Thickers and High Five alphas from Bella Blvd. The chipboard pumpkin is also from Bella Blvd.

A challenge just wouldn't be a challenge without a prize! If you play along with us this month - you could win a $20 gift certificate to Paper Issues!
Paper Issues is an amazing shop run by a lovely women named Cassie. All her products are made of perfection and she offers fast shipping. I shop with her often and love every minute of it! To have your name dropped in the prize hat you must complete two of the four challenges for the month of November. We'll drop your name in the hat twice for the first two and if you link up for challenges three and four we'll drop your name in two more times! So, if you play along for all four challenges in November, you'll get FOUR chances to win! You've got until November 14th at midnight EST to link your pages for this challenge.
