"What A Cool Baby" Layout (With Silhouette Cameo!)

Despite having a sick toddler running around - I did manage to play around with my Silhouette Cameo and get a scrapbook page done. Let me just say that I still have A LOT to learn about the SC but so far I am love it!
I cut the sunglasses and the title out with it my Silhouette. Cute, huh? ;)
The photos are of my daughter showing up and posing with her new sunglasses.
This layout is basically made up of a bunch of scraps I had in my scrap basket. The companies and collections vary - Pink Paislee's Prairie Hill, American Craft's Dear Lizzy, Authentique's Delightful, Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe, October Afternoon's Ducks In A Row, Simple Stories' Fabulous, etc. The background cardstock is a tan dotted swiss by Bazzil Basics. The circular tag at the top is by Elle's Studio.
Happy Monday!

Mother's Day and Other Life Updates

I nearly forgot to blog about Mother's Day. I hope all the mothers that are reading had a delightful day. I sure did! My husband took me out to lunch and showered me with gifts. Roses, a new necklace, scrapbook supplies....The best part of all? He surprised me by ordering me a Silhouette Cameo! I am a very happy girl.

Backtracking a little bit, on May 1st Charlotte got her first haircut. She handled it so much better then I thought she would. She didn't cry at all. Really...she seemed to enjoy it.
Pardon the giant kitty in the photo. His name is Chowder and he insisted on snuggling up right next to my books. My first day of classes is exactly a week from now and I have to admit I am freaking out a little bit. I have the majority of my textbooks and all the school supplies but I still feel unprepared. I guess it's because I just don't know what to expect. My stomach is in knots!

Off I go to play around with my SC. Hopefully I can figure it all out! I'm not exactly tech savvy. Nonetheless...I'm sure I'll be back with plenty of projects to share.

Color Me Scrappy - DT project - Challenge #4

Challenge number four is up and running over at Color Me Scrappy. Come play along with us! As usual, the colors we had to work with were absolutely stunning...!
Here is what I came up with....
I mainly used Crate Paper's Emma's Shoppe for the majority of the papers. In fact, the only papera that aren't from that collection are the very top border which is from Bella Blvd's Sunshine and Happiness collection, and the pink measurement strip down at the bottom which is washi tape from Bazzil Basics. The twine is from Doodle Bug.
The embellishments are from several manufacturers including American Crafts, Authentique, Simple Stories, and October Afternoon. The little cameras were fussy cut out of a paper by Echo Park.
Prize time! Who doesn't love a good prize? We are lucky enough to have Ashley Rock as our sponsor for this challenge. The winner of this challenge will recieve a copy of her amazing book - 12x12 Scrapbook Sketches Volume one - and will also win some fabulous paper from Jillibean Soup Neopolitan Bisque line and a Jillibean Alpha sticker sheet (photos are to come).
Come join us! We'd love to see what you could create with these fabulous colors.

Color Me Scrappy DT project - challenge #3

It's the first of the month which means it is time for another challenge from Color Me Scrappy. This was the beautiful color palette we had to work with.
...And this is what I came up with. I used quite a mixture of different companies...October Afternoon (Ducks in a Row), American Crafts (Dear Lizzy Neapolitan), Authentique (Delightful), Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe), Bazzil Basics (Vintage Marketplace), and Thickers & Bella Blvd (Alphas).
I really wanted to put the Dear Lizzy Jars to use but I was never sure what to do with them. I remembered having this picture in my stack of photos. I've always thought my daughter looked like she was dreaming, making a wish, or looking to the future. That's when I came up with the idea of putting 'wishes' into the jar and making a list of wishes that my husband and I have for our daughter. I made the confetti using the bits that fell out of my scallop dot edge punch. I scattered the confetti to make it appear as if it were flying out of the jar.

And what's a challenge without a good prize? The above kit from Peace, Love, & Scrapbooking is what's up for grabs! Isn't it beautiful? If you'd like to win it - come play along with us. In addition for a chance to win this beautiful kit - we have a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. The person for this challenge who is chosen as the DT's favorite will earn a spot as a GUEST DESIGNER for the June 1st reveal. Such a great opportunity! What are you waiting for? ;)
Come play along with us!
